The following information was supplied by the Sleepy Hollow Police Department.
Abandoning Car, But Taking Plates
Mt. Pleasant contacted Sleepy Hollow Police about an abandoned vehicle traced back to someone in our area on Sept. 8 at 12:55 a.m. Officers went to the owner’s residence at College Avenue and told the owner’s roommate the vehicle was being towed. At 1:34 a.m., Mt. Pleasant PD reported locating the driver and would bring the person to SHPD headquarters. The driver had been found by police walking along Route 448 with the license plates holding the license plates and the registration sticker of the car.
All of this wasn't as shady as it sounds as the Mt. Pleasant police discovered the driver abandoned his newly purchased car because it wasn't operational. However, he still received a summons for a vehicle not yet properly registered.
DWI Arrest, With Damages
An intoxicated man was reported to be on Chestnut Street at 11:10 p.m. on Sept. 9, leaving several damaged cars in his wake. Officers arrived to find an accident between two cars and a parked car. The Fire Department was requested along with Sleepy Hollow Ambulance Corps because of airbag deployment the allegedly intoxicated driver's car. Two vehicles were towed by Stiloski’s. Mutual aid ambulance responded from Tarrytown and transported the driver to Phelps Memorial Hospital.
Hector Ramon-Coronel, 22, of Clintondale, NY was issued a summons for DWI and released to the care of the Phelps staff.
