Sleepy Hollow Police: Cocaine Arrest, Bedford Road Accident with Injuries

A summary of recent police activity and arrests in the village of Sleepy Hollow.

Cocaine Arrest

Sleepy Hollow police report an investigation lead to the arrest of a 27-year-old Sleepy Hollow man in front of 99 College Avenue on a cocaine charge. 

The man was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh, a misdemeanor, and taken to headquarters for processing.

Bat to Door

A Clinton Street resident reported to Sleepy Hollow police on July 20 just before 4 p.m. that someone had broken his door. 

Officers talked to the complainant who said that a man he had had a verbal argument with returned five minutes later with a bat or stick and hit his front door. There were three dents and scratches in the door as a result. 

The complainant said he could not get any witnesses at this time. Police took photos and the man was told if he had any witnesses to have them go to headquarters to make a statement. 

Barnhart Party

A caller complained to police on July 20 at 4:30 p.m. that someone was playing loud music in Barnhart Park with explicit lyrics. They also had a generator and alcoholic beverages, the caller said. Officers went and found the party who was told that no radios, generators or alcohol was allowed in the park.

Accident with Injuries

Several callers reported to police a car accident with injuries on Bedford Road on July 22 at 10:34 a.m. Officers sent along ambulance and the fire department. 

Police Chief Gregory Camp reported that one car was crossing from Sleepy Hollow Road to County House Road, striking the second car going westbound on Route 448. 

Both drivers were transported to Phelps Memorial Hospital by Sleepy Hollow Volunteer Ambulance Corps with complaints of pain. Both cars involved were towed. 

No charges were made.
