Police said one car was going southbound and turning into the school when it struck a northbound car.

Abducted in PA?

A woman came into police headquarters on August 4 at 2:48 p.m. to report that she had been abducted in Camp Hill, PA and was dropped off in New York by an unknown person. She did not want any police action taken or medical help, but was only requesting a way to get home.

The Sharing Community in Yonkers was contacted and would take her overnight.
Police contacted Camp Hill, PA police and nearby to ask if a missing persons report or abduction report was out. Agencies contacted had no such record.

The woman was taken to the sharing house, which would also assist her in getting home.

Caller Possibly Locates Missing Man

The 'vulnerable' man who wandered off from his family for over a day was possibly sighted by a woman taking a bus from Yonkers to Hastings.

A woman called Sleepy Hollow police on August 5 at 6 p.m. saying she believed she saw the missing man on the 6U bus while she was on it around 11:19 a.m. She said the man was possibly wearing a black shirt. She did not recall seeing him get off the bus. The BeeLine supervisor was contacted in an effort to find the bus' driver.

Police have not confirmed if this was indeed the missing man she saw.

Marijuana Cigar

An off-duty officer reported seeing two males rolling what appeared to be a marijuana cigar while he was in Barnhardt Park on August 6 at 2:15 p.m.
Officers went to the park and reported finding two suspects and placing one under arrest.

They charged a 23-year-old Sleepy Hollow man with unlawful possession of marijuana.

One-Ton Safe Stolen from Unoccupied Home

A caller reported to police on August 8 that someone had entered their basement on Clinton Street and stolen something unusually heavy.

Officers went and learned that the homeowners discovered an antique safe containing mortgage papers and their property deed had been stolen from the unoccupied residence over three months ago.

The safe was reported to weigh over 1,000 pounds and the homeowner was unsure who took it or how it was removed. They had been told that several people had been hanging out behind the home during various hours.

Pocketbook Left on Car Roof

A caller reported to police on August 8 that she lost her pocketbook -- containing all her personal identification, credit cards and house keys.

She left it on the roof of the car when she drove off from Phelps Memorial Hospital property.

Hospital security was advised of the lost property and officials searched the area with no results.

Suspicious Man in Roadway

Dog in Car Causes Domino Effect

Police responded to the scene of an accident on August 7 at 1:49 p.m. for a traffic accident on Gordon Avenue where one car had apparently hit three parked cars.

Police completed an accident report.

The driver said he was distracted by his dog in the car, which caused a "domino effect" when hitting another car, Police Chief Gregory Camp said.

Broadway Accident with Injuries

Airbags were deployed in both cars involved in an accident on North Broadway at Palmer Avenue on August 7 at 6:10 p.m.

Police said a car was turning left out of Palmer onto Broadway when a car going southbound collided with it.

The ambulance took one person to Phelps Memorial Hospital complaining of arm pain.
