State Police, Good Samaritan Stop Woman from Jumping from TZ Bridge

A woman was pulled to safety before she jumped from the Tappan Zee Bridge this afternoon, State Police said. 

State Police stationed at Troop T Barracks in Tarrytown report that the 54-year-old had pulled over her car in the southbound right lane of the bridge around 3:07 p.m. Police started to receive 911 calls that the woman had then gotten out of her car and climbed the right shoulder fence. 

State Police, along with an unnamed good samaritan were able to grab the woman and pull her back to safety. 

She was brought to police headquarters and then taken onto the Westchester County Medical Center for mental evaluation.
