State police are searching the Hudson River and region for someone who may have jumped from the Tappan Zee Bridge this morning.
State Police stationed at Troop T at the base of the Tappan Zee Bridge received a call around 4:30 a.m. about an abandoned car on the bridge.
Police found an Honda Accord with no one in it. There was no note but the keys were in the car along with a driver’s license left on the front seat. Based on these items, police launched a recovery operation that’s continued all morning with no results.
“State Police Aviation and Navigation Teams began searching the surrounding areas and waterways for evidence of a person jumping from the bridge with negative results,” police said in a press release. “As of late this morning, the search continues, however nothing has been located.”
