From around 4 to 8 p.m. last night, the majority of calls to the Tarrytown Police Department were for downed trees and branches.
Four trees fell, reported Lieutenant William Herguth, most leaning on power lines and some blocking roadways.
A tree fell onto a 224 South Broadway apartment building causing damages but no injuries, said Herguth. Police notified the building department who took case over from there.
Also, around 4 p.m., Herguth reported that a portion of the fencing surrounding construction of the new tennis courts across from the train station blew in the strong winds. Damage to 10 cars resulted.
Herguth said the department received about a dozen storm-related calls, but most of the problems were cleared up by DPW crews before this morning.
