The suicide jumper who after landing on concrete below the Tappan Zee Bridge has been identified by State Police as 21-year-old Dominic DiMele of Mount Vernon.
Investigator Joseph Becerra, of the Hawthorne State Police barracks, said a worker on the bridge saw DiMele park his vehicle, climb over the fence and jump at 4 a.m. Friday morning.
DiMele landed not in the water but on the concrete landing below the bridge, Becerra said.
The victim's family has been notified and the case is under ongoing investigation, Becerra said.
An Internet search revealed DiMele to be a 2009 graduate of Fordham Preparatory School in the Bronx and an outfielder on their baseball team.
