It's true, and they always get in trouble there so either police are always on the look-out or someone is always calling them in.

Don't use your heads. Leave the acres of land alone. We do not need the acres of land polluted with empty beer cans.

The EF students are nothing but trouble. Why can the administration get control of their students?
Victoria Cabezas October 20, 2012 at 03:26 pm
That should have been .... Why can't administration get control of their students?

Leave the kids alone. All of you hypocrites were drinking kegs after kegs in your younger days and you all always got away with it. Now adays kids cant drink or smoke without the task force busting them. Shouldnt the task force go after bigger things like cocaine and heroin? Not kids drinking 4 lokos

You take that attitude now; until a drunk kid ends up hurting somebody you care about... Then you'll be screaming out wondering why the cops weren't cracking down.
Aintthatascam October 20, 2012 at 08:54 pm
Make the school responsible for their actions. Some of these kids come from countries where the drinking age is lower.
Harsher punishment would work too, once the word gets out, it would stop. Also if the school made a rule like "break any laws, you will never be allowed into any of our programs and you will lose you $500~ deposit".

There will continue to be drunk people doing stupid things no matter if they are a kid or an adult. All the cops ever do is taser the guy after hes already caused the damage so theres really no point in making the penalties harder after all of that

Sleepy Hollow High School kids do the same thing and the staff their aren't under scrutinization for controlling them. It's just part of growing up and thats why we have the town services to clean up. If there wasn't anything for the town to clean up then they wouldn't have their jobs.

Finally someone who understands that we ALL make mistakes sometimes and without them everyone would be clueless in life

It's illegal no matter how its put and who used to get away with it. Good for the police and shame on the school staff and anyone who condones such ILLEGAL AND INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR!

How is it EF's fault that students sneak off and drink? Isn't it pretty much considered par for the course that kids drink, do drugs etc in college? Not saying you should not enforce laws, just that it might be setting the bar (no pun intended) a little high to expect schools to have 24/7 surveillance on every student, or that they would expel every student caught with a can of beer.
John Doe October 21, 2012 at 07:15 pm
Well seeing how they're are more of them compared to high school kids, the likelyhood of them getting caught is greater. Also they are not familiar with the area as us locals. Also it's hard to control what the students do off campus so it's not their fault for what they do off campus. I remember in high school despite the amount of D.A.R.E. seminars we had it didn't make me say on a Friday night: "you know what fellas? Lets not drink and let's get a game of chess going!"

I agree with everything you have posted here John. Also - I've said this before - but I see these kids all the time on the Metro North platform and they are more courteous than some of the regular commuters.
John Doe October 21, 2012 at 09:08 pm
Yeah they really are very nice people. They are much more polite when you encounter them as a stranger compared to if you tried to be friendly with a stranger that is from around here. At least that's my experience from the ones I would meet at The Huddle.
wanda October 22, 2012 at 02:17 am
How do you meet High school kids in the Huddle?
John Doe October 22, 2012 at 02:44 am
Never said I met high school kids in the huddle. EF ranges from elementary aged children up to young adults. Another thing don't tell me you're oblivious to the fact that its not hard for underage kids to get into bars? C'mon you were 18 once.
Patricia October 22, 2012 at 10:14 pm
The people here complain about the EF students but when their children get caught underage drinking then it is just kids being kids and why are the police so tough on them. Tarrytowners should just relax a little and welcome the much needed visitors.
