Tarrytown Police Investigate Village Thefts, Forced Break In




A Tarry Place resident called Tarrytown police to report she had just had a burglary at her home on July 1 at 11:32 a.m.

Police reported that the burglary took place between 10 and 11:30 that morning. 

Lt. William Herguth confirmed that it was a forced break in, with someone smashing the side window and stealing jewelry and watches.

The case is under investigation.

A Grove Street resident reported to police on June 28 at 10:11 p.m. that her Apple TV box and remote control were missing from her home.

She said she did not observe any signs of forced entry but she did have workers in her home during the day.

Police filed a case for petty larceny.

CVS reported to police the loss of some expensive baby formula.

An employee from the Bridge Plaza store called Tarrytown police on June 28 at 10:56 a.m. to report property had been stolen from the store and the suspect had left the scene.

The store manager told police at the scene that the suspect stole four 23-ounce cans of Enfamil formula (priced at $25.99 each), then pushed the exterior doors upon fleeing, breaking the hinges. 

The suspect was seen leaving in a dark green four-door 1994 Toyota Camry. He fled in an unknown direction. Police notified area departments.

Case filed for petty larceny.
