Tarrytown Police Officers Injured During Arrest of Alleged Laundromat Robber

An officer reported being flagged down on Main Street for a robbery that occurred on June 13 at 4:20 p.m.

The laundromat employee on Main and John Street said a suspect, whom she was able to name, had just taken money from the register inside the side entrance to the business. She described the man as wearing a black jacket, black shorts, and a white t-shirt and knew him by name. She said she pursued the man down Main Street but lost sight of him as he fled into the South Washington Street municipal lot.

Police reported taking the suspect into custody in the area of South Washington Street and transported him to headquarters.

At headquarters Jeffrey T. Bucci, 49, allegedly became combative and violent, fighting with officers. Police used a taser to subdue the man, placing him in handcuffs in a holding cell.

Several officers reported sustaining injuries from the effort. Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived to treat the officers and the prisoner.

Again at 7:25 p.m., TVAC was dispatched to headquarters as the prisoner now complained of chest pain. He was transported to Phelps Memorial Hospital with an officer on board and another following.

The 49-year-old man was later arraigned and brought to Westchester County Jail on charges of resisting arrest and robbery in the second degree.
