In Tarrytown, Lieutenant William Herguth said detectives are investigating the case of a wallet that went missing in the Warner Library.
On Jan. 5 at 3:35 p.m., a woman came into headquarters to report that she had left her wallet at Warner Library and it was now nowhere to be found.
Police filed a grand larceny case filed since the contents were valued at more than $1,000.
Detectives are viewing surveillance tapes from the library, Herguth said.
In Sleepy Hollow, two wallets have been reported missing:
A man came to police headquarters on Jan. 8 to report the loss of his wallet, last seen on Jan. 5 while he was in the Huddle Bar. He had not found the wallet or been contacted by anyone who had. He contacted his credit card companies for the four cards he had in the wallet; he also reported losing $350 cash and a NYS driver’s license.
Another man came into headquarters on Jan. 10 at 10:57 a.m. reporting he had lost his wallet the day prior. He thought he used it last at the Mobil Station in Sleepy Hollow. He said he checked with the station but they did not have any lost property belonging to him. The wallet was black and contained his NYS driver’s license, social security card, three credit cards, and $110 cash.
