Best Friends, Co-Workers, Double Retirees
Filomena Fallacaro and Irene Amato are retiring—again—after 60+ years of dedicated and selfless service to the Village of North Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, village officials announced.
"Both ladies have lived in the Village their entire lives and have been best friends since grade school. After so many years of working together, they have remained each other's support system and comrades!" said Paula A. McCarthy Tompkins, Village Clerk, on the village website.
Ms. Fallacaro, who was the Village Clerk and Registrar, retired in 1987 as Clerk, but stayed on part-time as Registrar. Mrs. Amato, who was the Village Treasurer, retired in 1987 as well and stayed on part-time as Deputy Registrar.
