In this clip, New York State Thruway Authority's Executive Director Thomas Madison addresses the issue of the many jobs the new Tappan Zee Bridge promises to bring to the region with the reports of Thruway layoffs to come.
"The New York State Thruway Authority is planning 234 layoffs to help shore up its finances, but no toll increases are planned," wrote New York Newsday in an Associated Press report.
Madison assured the crowd that the bridge rebuild is part of the necessary upkeep of the entire Thruway system and will proceed as planned.
