Man Charged with DWI Has Six Open Cases

The 25-year-old Ossining man also faces three controlled substance charges, a marijuana charge and probation in Sleepy Hollow.

An Ossining man appearing in Briarcliff Manor Court this week faces an aggravated unlicensed operator and DWI charge in that village, but Westchester County Jail records show 23 current charges across four total jurisdictions for Norman Sanchez.

The 25-year-old Ossining resident was arrested on Aug. 11, 2012 and charged with Driving while Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, according to jail records.

He has been incarcerated since February 2.

He appeared in Briarcliff Manor Court Wednesday where Village Justice Fred Weinstein noted the defendant did not have a Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC) report showing his progress due to the fact that he has been in jail and unable to attend.

In the Town of Ossining, where Sanchez has four open cases, his total bail is set at $15,000. There, he is charged with a number of controlled substance crimes, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, aggravated unlicensed operation, assault, unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief charges, as well as "several" vehicle and traffic infractions.

No bail is set in Irvington, where he is also charged with Resisting Arrest and Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the Fourth Degree; and in Sleepy Hollow, where he faces three controlled substance charges, a marijuana charge and probation.

On Wednesday, Briarcliff Manor Village Justice Fred Weinstein exonerated the previously posted $250 bail in Sanchez's case and re-set bail at $1,000.

Westchester County Assistant District Attorney Virginia Marciano said she expects to have an offer for all of Sanchez's misdemeanor charges at the next court date, though she could not specify what that may be.

The Briarcliff Manor cases were adjourned to March 13.
