During Monday night’s Tarrytown Board meeting, the Trustees accepted a bid for the so-called Mason’s Lot which will create 23 metered spaces for the parking-deficient Main Street commercial district.
The space is located off South Washington Street behind the Masonic Lodge at 54 Main Street. , the remaining portion to remain private.
Village Administrator Michael Blau said the Village anticipates the “majority done by the end of the year.” The lot may not have a finish coat, he said, but it will have asphalt and be “at least in a condition where we can have people parking in it.”
The job went to the lowest bidder, Vernon Hills Contracting in Mount Vernon, NY, at a cost of $189,905 – $25,900 of which will be paid by the Lodge whose section requires regrading and drainage to match up with the new portion.
