Poll: What Rec Programs Do You Want in SH?

The Sleepy Hollow Recreation Department wants to know what new programs you would like to see.

The Sleepy Hollow Board has formed a new , on several Sundays (starting this week) we will be able to walk from along the riverfront, and now they want to know what new programs you'd like to see.

Lucky for us, Patch has this great poll technology, so we can put the question directly to the people and get real feedback quickly. So, let's all help make Sleepy Hollow even better:

What would you most like to see added to Sleepy Hollow's recreational programs? If you like more than one from the list, tell us in the comments. And if there's something else not mentioned please elaborate in the comments as well.

Thank you for participating!

We must be the only town in the county that does NOT 1 regular soccer field...I am not talking about Peabody, cause its on a hill, or SHHS or WI, cause we cant play there because it feels like every summer money is being spent on upgrading those 2 fields, but its pretty sad that a town that resides ppl where their backgrounds come from soccer countries cant have a regular field with residents can enjoy a game of soccer....go look at Ossining, the schools lets the residents play on their school field, and ITS TURF...we cant even go to SHHS and try to play up there or else...no permit no play...and then you wonder why kids/some adults get into trouble

I don't live in Sleepy Hollow but; this question struck a nerve. While it is a legitimate question as to how the Village could enhance their recreational programming, it should not be discussed in a vacuum. With the fiscal challenges that our country, state, county, town and villages are facing, it is imperative that all village service enhancements be considered within the context of the yearly budget. If the municipalities only add services for their constituents and as a result increase their debt service, our already exhorbitant real estate and income taxes will only continue to rise and make Westchester County that much less affordable for families to live in and enjoy. Thankfully Governor Cuomo has instituted the 2% cap to try to reign in public institution costs where when left to their own funding practices had not done enough to control their spending. One of the biggest problems nationally is "over-spending" and with $16 trillion in debt at the federal level, this needs to be one of our highest priorities as a country, and needs to be addressed at all levels of government.

you are calling the outfield of the softball/baseball diamond the soccer field? i am talking about a real field with nice goal posts, lined up the proper way...no just a piece of land that ppl make available and say, " ok guys here is your soccer field "...either do it correct, or dont do it at all...and oh yeah btw, you have to pay for parking and pay to use the field in the village that you live in
