Missing a Beloved Pet at the Holiday

Always hoping, never despairing long, living life as it is meant to be lived.

Last year, just after Christmas, our beloved Scottish fold cat, Rorie Edmund, passed away. He was sixteen and a half but we were still not ready to let go. Our veterinarian in Elmsford was so compassionate in helping us say good-bye, that we were able to hold ourselves together.

With the passing of many months we were ready to look for another pet who might fill in the hollow space in our hearts. We found what we hope would be Rorie Edmund Jr. from a breeder near Boston. The little red kitten was listed as a male. I jumped at the chance. Just before the little one was to come to us, the breeder found out that the red kitten was really a girl. This is unusual in a red cat. We were offered our money back but decided to go through with our plans. We did change the name to Rorie Rae.

We still miss Rorie as we talk about his wondrous antics but we don't have to much time for steady reflection because this little bundle of joy flies about the house filling it with love and joy.
