Once in the system, it seems to take a lot to get a kid who doesn't live here out of the system.
District Superintendent Dr. Howard Smith, at the latest School Board meeting said the district requires three proofs of residency to register for school, but once in, kids needn't reregister each year. There would have to be just cause to investigate a student's residency, which happened several times this year when students were forced to attend their own district elsewhere.
One resident mother seemed to think there are more students who shouldn't be in our schools and are costing us money than the administrators might be aware of.
