Wolfpack 3rd & 4th Black had a great week of preparation heading into their matchup with Westlake, but unfortunately lost their starting QB, Ben Good, to a knee injury on the eve of the game. Despite the loss of their leader, the boys fought hard on defense with key tackles from Westin Latessa and Lorenzo Boccabella throughout the game. Down 13-0 early, the offense struggled, but was able to put together a scoring drive behind the strong running of Zack Rudder and Latessa. The drive was capped by a 45 yard TD run by Kishaun Cole. Kevin Sullivan had a great day on both sides of the ball. With the 13-7 loss, Wolfpack Black fell to 2-1 on the season, and is looking forward to a good week of practice and the return of their QB.

Wolfpack 3rd & 4th White took the field against the Tuckahoe Tigers in the next game, and came out firing on all cylinders. Behind the strong running of Dylan Nelson, Jacob Zednik and Harrison Halesworth, the Wolfpack moved the ball at will. After a 30-yard pass from Halesworth to the stellar James Welch, it was Halesworth taking it in from 15 yards out to open the scoring. Zednik tacked on the extra point for a 7-0 lead. The defense was fierce all game long, led by Halesworth, Zednik, Welch, Nelson, Michael Scaglione, and Liam-Peter Hanson. With the defense keeping Tuckahoe's offense at bay for most of the half, the offense continued to dominate with Halesworth, Nelson and Zednik ripping off chunks of yardage on every carry behind the great blocking of Scaglione, Noel Gomez, Danny Sullivan, Evan Bernal, Reuben Bertiz and Talon Carsto. After another great run by Nelson, Harrison Halesworth found pay dirt again from 20 yards out. With William Kelly's extra point it was 14-0 late in the 2nd Quarter. Tuckahoe broke off a big gainer just before halftime, and punched it in with only 11 seconds remaining in the half. With the ball on their own 40 yard line, Halesworth rolled right and bombed the ball down the sideline where James Welch made an amazing juggling catch, broke free from two would-be tacklers for a score with no time remaining in the half, and a 20-6 lead. The second half was more of the same with another broken play leading to a Tuckahoe touchdown and a score of 20-13. With the game on the line Dylan Nelson stepped up and ripped off a 35 yard TD run to put the game on ice. The defense gave the offense one last possession, and Zachary Burnett scored from 40 yards out to cap the scoring and a 32-12 victory and a 2-1 record on the season!
