The Long Island Roller Rebels would like to pay tribute the very women who brought us here: our Mothers!

On Saturday, May 12th, The Long Island Roller Rebels' Rock-A-Betty Bruisers take the track against Shore Points Boardwalk Brawlers in a hard hitting, fast paced, action packed bout! As the Bruisers warm up your seats and the night gets hotter, the Roller Rebel All-Stars will finish up in a WFTDA sanctioned bout against our visitors from the South, the River City Rollergirls (Richmond, VA).

Beer Served by our friendly local sponsors, the Long Ireland Beer Company, and the music will be provided by our wonderful DJ Joe Jack!

*BRING A CHAIR and sit rink-side!

*Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door! Children under 8 are FREE!

*Parking is free but be sure to arrive early!

*Venue is Handicap Accessible

*There is no ATM on the premises.

Tickets can be picked up at Will Call at 6pm on the day of the event.

When my kids were in school in Tarrytown, we would get a list at the beginning of every school year of the supplies we needed to buy. The parents were asked to buy a separate looseleaf binder for every single class our kids were taking and, for some classes, they asked for a looseleaf AND a spiral notebook. When I was in school, each kid had ONE looseleaf and we separated classes with dividers. Having SIX or seven loose leafs adds to backpack weight and costs a lot of money. My kids supply bills were often close to $100 apiece. The teachers have bought into this idea that all of these supplies are necessary and they are not. I'm not surprised that Staples is offering "rewards programs." Their advertising and marketing efforts have convinced the teachers that you must have a package of 12 red correcting pens, per child.
