Get your body and mind in shape while celebrating the new season and enjoying glorious Hudson River views. At three waterfront parks, senior teachers from YogaWorks in Irvington, Yoga Shivaya of Tarrytown and Sacred Space Studio in Beacon will lead free classes at this third annual event. Please bring water, sunblock, a towel, friends and a yoga mat (if you have one).
10 – 11 a.m. Beginner Yoga
Stretches and breathing exercises open up and energize the body. Formal yoga postures build strength and flexibility. Deep relaxation calms body and mind.
11 a.m. – noon Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa employs a flowing sequence of yoga postures linked with the breath; the journey between postures is as important as the postures themselves. Because of the rapid, ongoing movement, Vinyasa is vigorous. At least six months yoga experience is recommended.
