NBA Star to Host Camp in Sleepy Hollow

Local b-ballers will be schooled by a master in the field this summer at Steve Novak Teaches Hoops Basketball Camp.

“I’m very excited to be back for my second year with Teaches Hoops,” said former New York Knick Steve Novak, on the camp’s website

The 30-year-old, who plays for the Toronto Raptors, will teach a sold-out group of local boys and girls aged 7-16 from July 15 to July 19 at Sleepy Hollow High School in Tarrytown.

“I love getting the opportunity to hang out and teach kids about basketball,” said Novak.

The Yorktown Husker Universe reports that Novak highlighted Sleepy Hollow’s love of the game by noting its success in launching players to Division 1 programs and players like Tony Taylor, a Sleepy Hollow native, who had workouts with the Knicks.

Novak said he hopes his camp will inspire young players to greatness.

“Who knows, maybe someday they will end up living out their dream just like I did,” said Novak.
