Studio A Gallery Exhibitions and Art Classes

Studio A Gallery new exhibition schedule and art classes.

Hello to Friends of Studio A Gallery

New Exhibitions:

Studio A Gallery is planning a series of new exhibitions, featuring artists that are producing work which highlights Tarrytown and its environs.  As well, we will celebrate this upcoming Spring 2013 with individual works that display a that theme. We will feature new artists to the community every three weeks to four weeks beginning Friday, March 24, 2013, with a show of exceeding special ceramic works by Japanese artist, Keiko Ikoma (ee Photos below).  The exhibition will open with a public reception from 6 to 9 PM.  Please come and celebrate these new artists, their artwork, Studio A Gallery and Tarrytown. We look forward to meeting you.

Studio A Gallery is a teaching gallery, with courses taught by Athena Bing He, owner and director of the gallery, Dr. William C. Maxwell, gallery collaborator, and assemblage artist David Burnett, who's new and wonderful pieces are presently on display in the gallery.  These courses include still life drawing, portrait painting and drawing, painting and drawing from the nude, children's art making, and mixed media painting.  The classes are small, one-on-one experiences where you choose what you want from each class, talk about your objectives with the instructor, and as you meet these objectives, set new developmental goals.  We invite everyone interested, from novice to practicing artist, to call or email the gallery for further information, or better, come to the gallery and see a class in process.

Tours:

William C. Maxwell, who is also a Professor of Art at The College of New Rochelle, and Studio A Gallery collaborator, conducts tours to various art districts of NYC, to include Chelsea, 57th Street, Lower East Side and Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  We have wonderful groups and excellent touring that includes discussion, critique and question/answer. Come away from this experience with a new perspective on contemporary and modern art.  Often these tours include informative views of the particular art district we are in, as well as recommendations for restaurants and further touring within the neighborhood. The feedback on these tours is nothing but positive.  Please contact the gallery for further information.
