A Deep Communal Need

There is a deep communal need in Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow, and until it is met, our township(s) will not be complete. Until it is met, our lives will remain shallow and empty. Until it is met, our children will wonder why we are so cranky on weekend mornings.

No, I'm not talking about reducing our cray-cray taxes, designing a special headless mascot costume for the Mayor to wear each Third Friday, or speeding up that mysterious 'repair' on the ramp that goes over the train tracks near the Town Hall. (Though these are all good ideas we can discuss later).

The deep communal need I'm talking about here is getting a coffee cart to AYSO soccer practices and games. Especially the ones I'm at, on Peabody Field, Sleepy Hollow, every Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.

This need in our not-quite-caffeinated-enough community, and in my own life, also presents a prime business opportunity for some able young, middle-aged, or old entrepreneur who has vision and also a trailer hitch.

Every Saturday and Sunday at Peabody Field--and other fields I don't care about as much--there are hundreds* of sleepy parents who would pay just about anything for coffee, and possibly danish. At present, these parents are having to make due with sips from their children's tepid water or gatorade bottles.

Fellow citizens, this must stop.

A coffee cart could absolutely clean up. Coffee Labs? Mint? Beuller? Someone: please investigate town licenses--or better yet, ask forgiveness instead of permission. Please come out and fill this deep communal need. Please come sell us coffee, and possibly danish.

Practices at Peabody start on Saturdays at 8am.

*There may not really be hundreds. But there are dozens, and they are all really in need of coffee.
