Vendors and student groups from local schools manned booths (and tried to secure pamphlets from flying) at this Saturday's annual Eco Fair, attached to the end of the Farmers' Market in Patriot's Park. The Eco Fair is organized by Tarrytown Environmental, whose goal, according to President Carole Griffiths, is to "reduce energy usage in the village 12% by 2012."

Here, bales of hay were being distributed by the Village for the scarecrow-making event of the season -- a great success judging by all those happy families and plenty of large stuffed scarecrows.
Meanwhile at the other end of the market, the Third Friday initiative to populate the Halloween parade with continues every Saturday through October.
It was a lively, if windy, day of education, crafting, and family fun.
