Monday, Sept. 9

_While our villages won't have a ceremony for 9/11 until Sunday, Sept. 15, there are ample opportunities to serve in remembrance in the meantime. Here's a list of events coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the United Way going on now and leading up to Sept. 11. 

_The Tarrytown Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 8 p.m. at the Municipal Building, One Depot Plaza with the following public hearings:

  • 99 North Broadway Associates, 99 North Broadway - Use variance and parking variance for the conversion of ground floor medical offices to two-two-bedroom apartments
  • Edward Levin and Camille Cunningham, 121 Neperan Road - Variance to construct an addition to the existing house.
  • Leo Kapica, 29 West Franklin Street - Variance to allow parking in front and side yard setbacks

Tuesday, Sept. 10

_Tonight's Sleepy Hollow Board of Trustees meeting and public hearing will take place at Kendal on Hudson, 1010 Kendal Way, Sleepy Hollow. 

  • The hearing is "to receive comments from the public on the application of Kendal on Hudson to amend its special permit issued to it in 2001, more specifically to amend the special permit to include project renew, which involves an interior reconfiguration of the existing facility to reduce the number of skilled nursing units by 16 and increase the number of assisted living units by 22, together with other exterior site changes. The application also includes a request to open the woodland trail connecting the existing Kendal walkway system to Birch Close. A hard copy of the application and accompanying documents are available in the Village Clerk’s Office, in Village Hall, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m., and on the Village’s website, at www.sleepyhollowny.gov."

Wednesday, Sept. 11

_Sleepy Hollow's Waterfront Advisory Committee meets at 7 p.m. in Sleepy Hollow Village Hall.

_Tarrytown's Board of Trustees work session is held at 6 p.m. in Tarrytown Village Hall.
