Volunteers, Veggies, Guests Needed for Sleepy Hollow New Year's Day Feast

Though we already start look ahead to our New Year’s Eve plans, we often don’t think much about New Year’s Day.

How about starting the year off on really good footing, with good food and friends, at Sleepy Hollow’s community meal?

On New Year’s Day, in what has become a very lovely annual tradition, citizens gather to lend a hand, bring a dish, and cook up a delicious, free feast, for any residents who want to come.

The meal goes from noon to 3 p.m., Jan. 1. at the Galgano Center, 55 Elm Street.

All are welcome, no reservation required. If you want a ride, please call (914) 366-5106 before Friday, Dec. 27.

Also, they could use perhaps a few more vegetable side dish donations. Anyone interested in donating items, making a monetary contribution, or helping out that day can call or email Village Administrator Anthony Giaccio at (914) 366-5105, agiaccio@villageofsleepyhollow.org.

Oh, and until then, please drop off a new toy at the Sleepy Hollow Police Station, any hour, for the PBA to donate to kids in our community before Christmas.
