Cocoa, Bonfire, Crafts: Last Weekend to Enjoy Philipsburg Manor Open House

It’s a holiday open house…outside at Philipsburg Manor, and in the 18th century barn, the mill, the farmhouse, and happily, the well-stocked gift shop with modern restrooms.

A new event graces our grand old farm this year with a series of Saturday evenings dedicated to laid back wanderings of candlelit paths and sipping warm cocoa by the bonfire.

Enter the barn to see long tobacco leaves drying for the winter. Tour the whole farmhouse, including the usually off-limits upstairs bedrooms. Do a craft with the kids such as covering an orange with cloves for a natural air freshener you can bring home. Listen to live fiddling by the fire.

And finally, do your holiday shopping in the great gift shop back where you started. Here there's more live music, more cocoa, cookies, off-season sale items (pumpkin-flavored everything, Halloween books!) and great prices on this holiday's treasures. Of course there’s a ton of Sleepy Hollow-centric fare as well as jewelry, ornaments, books, games, and everything else under the moon.

Saturday, Dec. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. is the last day. Click here for more info and to buy tickets.
