Briarcliff Manor: Ron Jankowski Memorial Fund Father’s Day 5K

Where: Law Memorial Park

When: Sunday, June 15, beginning at 7 a.m.

Cost: $25

Description: The annual Ron Jankowski 5K run/walk is held in memory of longtime Briarcliff Manor firefighter each year. The Ron Jankowski Memorial Fund supports firefighter education throughout the area. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race kicks off at 8 a.m. More details, including pre-registration information, can be found here.

Croton-on-Hudson: 2013 Clearwater Festival

Where: Croton Point Park

When: Saturday and Sunday, June 15 and 16, gates open at 9 a.m.

Cost: Advance tickets (purchased by June 14 online) begin at $64 day pass or $96 weekend pass for members.

Description: Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival features seven sustainably powered stages with diverse music, dance, storytelling and family-oriented programming as well as juried crafts, the Green Living Expo, the Working Waterfront with small boat exhibits and rides, an artisanal food & farm market, environmental education displays and exhibits, and the Circle of Song where audience participation is the focus. Dobbs Ferry: Musical Tot Shabbat

Where: Chabad of the Rivertowns

When: Friday, June 14 at 5:30 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Bobby Doowah will lead this week’s Tot Shabbat, recommended for kids under age seven. The evening will be full of Shabbat songs, traditions and food.

New Rochelle: Opening of Rumble Bloom Art Exhibit by “GG”

Where: Reverol & Co. Contemporary Art, 300 Huguenot St., New Rochelle

When: Saturday, June 15 at 7 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: From June 15th through July 27, Gabriel Gimenes “Rumble Bloom” first solo exhibit will be at the gallery. The exhibition includes works that move between familiar characters of growing up “inner-city” style and a fictional protagonist named Fado.

Pelham: Bloomsday at Pelham Art Center

Where: Pelham Art Center, 155 Fifth Ave., Pelham

When: Saturday, June 15 at 1:30 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: This event is inspired by the work of Irish novelist and playwright James Joyce and learn about traditional Irish Folk Arts. To celebrate the event, musicians will play traditional Irish music, dancers will perform Irish step dancing, and excerpts from James Joyce’s Ulysses will be read. The musicians will share the history of traditional Irish folk songs about life, love and living, with stories about their origins. The dancers will engage the audience through performance and instruction.

Rye Brook: Rye Brook’s 31s Birthday Celebration

Where: Crawford Park, 12 to 4 p.m.

Cost: $3 fee charged for food,  A donation of canned goods to be distributed to community soup kitchens would be greatly appreciated.

Description: The Village of Rye Brook will be celebrating its 31st birthday on Saturday, June 15 in Crawford Park from 12 to 4 p.m. The free party will offer drinks, games, rides and a water park theme with attractions including water wars, a water slide, obstacle course and more.

Port Chester: Walk for Gabby  

Where: Port Chester High School

When: June 15, 9 a.m.

Description: Friends and family will gather on June 15 to help provide a bright future to a young Port Chester student while they honor another who was lost too soon. The third annual “Walk for Gabby,” event is in honor of Port Chester native Gabrielle Acevedo who died in a tragic car crash in 2010. The event raises money for a scholarship fund in her name, set up to help support a local student studying communication disorders or special education. Last year’s event raised $6,500. This year two Port Chester High School graduating seniors received scholarships from the Gabrielle Acevedo Fund.

There will be raffles offering opportunities to win gift baskets, gift cards, t-shirts, book bags, bracelets and more.  Make donation checks out to The Gabrielle Acevedo Scholarship Fund. The event is sponsored by Anthony Foust.

Port Chester: Clean Up Day

When: Saturday, June 15, 9 to 11 a.m.

Where: Meet at the train station parking lot

Description: Help beautify the village of Port Chester on Saturday by volunteering to pick up trash. Please be sure to dress appropriately:  long pants, long shirt, hats & gloves. Garbage bags will be provided. Water and cups will be available.

Rye Brook/Port Chester: Relay for Life

Where: Port Chester Middle School

When: Saturday, June 15, 7 p.m. to Sunday, June 16 7 a.m.

Cost: Free

Description: At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much.

Relay teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path at a local high school, park, or fairground. Relay events are up to 24 hours in length and, because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.

The Rye Brook, Port Chester $60,000 fundraising goal has been met and exceeded, according to the event's Facebook page. The original goal of $60,000 came and went and the current total is estimated to be $75,534.85.

Yorktown: Yorktown Rotary Annual Installation Dinner & Celebration of our Paul Harris Fellows

Where: Travelers Rest, Route 100, Ossining, NY 10562

When: Friday, June 14 at 6 p.m.

Cost: $75 per person

Description: The Rotary Club of Yorktown will host the Annual Installation Dinner

and celebration of our Paul Harris Fellows Diana Penna and Joseph Guiliano

Yorktown: Relay For Life of Yorktown 2013

Where: Jack Devito Veteran's Memorial Field, 1974 Commerce Street, Yorktown Heights

When: Friday, June 14 from 7 p.m. to Saturday, June 15 7 a.m.

Description: The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out in the Jack Devito Veteran's Memorial Field and take turns walking or running around the track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.
