Yoga & Meditation - the challenge to just BE & why its worth the effort.


We had our first Yoga & Meditation workshop last night at Riverstone Yoga. Most of us were new to this practice but all jumped right into the deep end of the pool with this 2 hour class. From time to time, I had a few "oh I get it moments" that made it all worth while and I felt so much better when class finished.  Don't misconstrue, it wasn't easy for me, (as a matter of fact, it was difficult) but it was good for me! Initially I could not quiet my mind, I couldn't find my breath, I wasn't focused and I wanted to get up and leave more than once. So what was so great? I stayed and I struggled through all the noise in my head, I felt so much better when I was done. And, that's a big deal!!!! 

So meditation is a process but if you stay with it, it works - e.g. much of the frustration I had from earlier in the day, I did not have when I left. Meditation is one more arrow in my quiver to help fight stress!!!

We hope to have Akiva back again in October for another workshop and another journey into stillness.
