Rockefeller State Preserve

About 22 miles of the approximately 860 acres of the Rockefeller family estate, donated to New York State in 1983, is now known as the Rockefeller State Preserve. The nature preserve features paths along rivers, woods, a 24-acre lake and panoramic vistas. Fishing is permitted in Swan Lake and the Pocantico River, but fee permits are required for horseback riding and carriage driving and there is a $5 parking fee for visitors.
Rockwood Hall State Park, an extension of the Preserve, has spacious grounds and nature trails perfect for walking, cycling, picnicking and viewing the Hudson River.

Beautiful park located in the heart of "Sleepy Hollow Country". Also,this park has preserved and can give glimpses to what Sleepy Hollow looked like in Irving's time when he wrote "The Legend". The park can be reached easily anywhere along Bedford Road,Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, and roads adjoining it in Pocantico Hills. The park is great for hiking,walking,cross country skiing,sledding,nature photography & Trout fishing. Many of the hills has great views of the Hudson River. Many trails also follow the Pocantico River Valley. A recommended place for visitors and villagers.
