For 12 years, Striped Bass has enjoyed prime real estate on the waterfront directly across Tarrytown train station. Against the stunning backdrop of the Tappan Zee bridge, patrons enjoy a seafood-based menu, drinks and "bar bites" specials from noon to 7 pm. In the warmer months, the cabana bar and grill offers up a more casual experience on the patio, with no wait service, no credit cards and a short menu of burgers, dogs, seafood, ribs, steamers and sides served on paper plates.

This dump isn't owned by the Tarrytown Boat Club. They lease it out. They can't stand the guy who owns it either but he pays them alot of money for the right to do as he likes. I agree with the last few comments. Lousy service, blah food and the clueless woman who calls herself a manager. Obviously the guy who owns the place just doesn't care. It's an embarrassment to him and the Boat Club.

Very BAD, thawed cafeteria quality food or worse. Watery drinks that are mostly ice cubes. Rude wait staff, and a nasty manager with no concept of public service or providing a venue for customers to enjoy themselves.......apparently unafraid of being dismissed for running a slop house. The place is owned by the Tarrytown Yacht Club. I suspect nepotism, a cash cow for the boating set, or a tax write-off.
Whatever the cause, the place is tacky, the food and drinks would be appalling if they were free, and the manager and staff don’t care about anything except doing nothing and getting paid for it.

Stay away from this trough of slop.........as you’ve seen, I’m not the only one who feels this way. You decide if you want to have to lie to yourselves about “how wonderful it was” in order to justify all the money you’ll waste at The Striped Bass.

Nice video. The girl drinking and talking about how wonderful the place is is an employee. I can see why they might have a problem finding someone to say something nice about the place. Haven't been there in a while and now I remember why. The food is ok but overpriced. The service is lacking and the decor at the bar is hiddeous. Looks like a cheap 1950's scifi movie set. Overall, the place is just poorly run and gets worse every year. Time for something new there because what's there now just doesn't work any more.

Pretty good. Not my first choice but definitely would come back.

Too expensive compared to quality of the food. Service was pretty poor as well. View was great though.

This place is pretty good. Not the end all, be all of seafood restaurants but certainly not bad. I'd return.

**

Not a fan. Way to expensive for only solid seafood.

Just like the star system says, it's ok. I liked it, didn't love it. Food was good, not spectacular. Service was decent, not great. Would come back sometime in the future but not rushing to get here.

This place has some decent seafood. The view is quite nice. However, the prices were overly expensive in my opinion and the service could have been better. Maybe it was just this one time, but I don't know. Place was ok.

Eh, could be better. I know seafood is normally fairly pricey but I want quality for expense. The balance here just didn't quite cut it.

This was pretty good. Really can't complain overall. Not the best place I've been to but certainly good enough to come back.

Not bad. Good food, great few. Solid service. I'll return.

Striped Bass is overall pretty good. The view is spectacular and their decor is very nice. The prices are expensive, but I guess that's to be expected with seafood. Food was solid, could have been better. I would definitely come back, though.

This place was "ehh" Seafood was pretty decent but nothing special.

***

Pretty good. Seafood was fresh and prepared nicely. Prices were a little steep though. I guess that's to be expected with this type of food.

The best part about this restaurant was the decor, which is the least important aspect when dining. The fish was grossly undercooked and overly expensive. I wouldn't come back.

I agree with a lot of what's been said below. The food is out of this world. Seafood is my favorite type of meal and I was thoroughly impressed. The view was also great. However, the waiting staff could have been a little more attentive and the food took forever to finally come out.

This place has some very solid seafood. Plus the view is quite nice. However, the prices were pretty steep and the service wasn't up to par. Maybe it was just this one time, but I don't know. Place was ok.

Wow! I don't know how I've never been here before...it is amazing!! I've lived in Westchester for 20 years, and feel cheated that I've never been here in the summer!! The food was magnificent, the service was outstanding, and the view was second to none! Had it not been 30 degrees and snowing I would've loved to sit on their outdoor patio, but we ate inside a window table and enjoyed a bottle of sauvignon blanc and one of the best shrimp dishes I've ever had. Our waitress, Adriana, was so pleasant and knowledgable, she really topped off our great experience. I will definitely be back, and won't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone that's looking for fresh seafood, great ambiance, great views, and an overall great night away from the kids!!! : )

Absolutely love this place. The seafood is always sooo fresh and cooked deliciously.

The three fishes entree is great, so is the lobster stuffed with lobster!

The view is beautiful as well.
