What was originally the residence of the son of a Civil War general has been renovated and expanded into a luxury hotel and the Equus restaurant. It maintains fanciful antique touches like a full suit of armor and a giant outdoor chessboard. Guest amenities include tennis courts, a spa and an indoor and outdoor heated pool with a bar made to look like a cave. Diners can occasionally enjoy live music such as the romantic Sunday night serenade.
