"Shovels in the ground" needs a river-ready version for that expression.

I hope the "world's largest crane" will fit under the existing bridge...

Bobby Kennedy spotted the fish while flying over the TAP in his private jet. Of course, he purchasedRead More private carbon credits from Al Gore. They are both single men now ladies.

In response to Jimmy saying, "5 Dead fish and a little cloudy water is hardly a high price toRead More pay for the safe travel of millions of visitors and residents." Why must we always "settle" for a slop job rather than strictly following pre-agreements? "Professor Karl Coplan, Co-Director of the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic, explained that, “Riverkeeper’s acceptance of the Tappan Zee Bridge project was premised on strict compliance with the environmental conditions contained in the State’s Clean Water Act certification of the project. The Clean Water Act mandates strict compliance with these conditions and provides for citizen enforcement to ensure compliance." -

It wouldn't kill the dredgers to do it correctly... I'm very grateful for Riverkeeper. I canRead More imagine what a dead cesspool the Hudson would be, if it weren't for their protection

Speaking of bridge this week, anyone see black smoke billowing up form a barge on the Piermont sideRead More of the bridge tonight?

Driving across the tappan zee bridge doesn't bother me. However, if you are in outer lanes you knowRead More you are right near the edge where the wrong turn can cause you to nose dive. Best thing is to act like you are not going over the bridge, but you are on land than all your fears are erased.

It's taken me a while to get comfortable going over the TZ and I'm truly worried about the newRead More design. If you see someone wearing floaties while driving, that'll be me... I read somewhere that the TZ actually has a service where you can call and for a fee someone will drive you over the span. I think I'd better try to find that number...

Imagine how cool it would be to hang out ON the river! I think they're missing an amazingRead More opportunity to do something forward-thinking; a combo of the High Line and Walkway Over The Hudson. The cost of tearing down the bridge is supposed to be $65 million...how many years of maintenance would that pay for?
Eileen Gilroy June 18, 2013 at 06:11 pm
@Deb, I agree. I have taken advantage of both the High Line and The Walkway Over the Hudson. WhatRead More a missed opportunity not to turn the bridge into a park. How great would it be to walk to Nyack & Piermont and vice versa.

They just finished replacing the deck panels, now we're tearing it down? Seems rather stupid,Read More frankly. Tolls on the new bridge will go out of sight, too.
