This all-volunteer fire department was first organized in 1876. Today the force responds to over 360 fire and emergencyMore calls annually and consists of five individual companies: Columbia Hose Company #3, Union Hose Engine Company #2, Rescue Hose Company #1, Pocantico Hook and Ladder Company and Sleepy Hollow Fire Patrol.

The building between the Police Department and the Fire Department opened in 1940 and continues to operate as SleepyMore Hollow's municipal center. Village Hall currently houses the Justice Court, Administrator's Office, Architecture and Building Department, Finance Department and Recreation Department. The Village Board of Trustees meetings are held in the meeting room on the second floor of Village Hall. Trustee meetings are open to the public and usually fall on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.

The Sleepy Hollow Department of Architecture, Land Use Development, Buildings & Building Compliance is responsibleMore for the administration and enforcement of all laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and orders relating to the location, design, material, construction, alteration, repair, equipment, maintenance, use, occupancy, fire safety and demolition of buildings and structures. The department issues all building permits and occupancy certificates and is responsible for oversight on construction and development. The department is supervised by the Village Architect, Sean E. McCarthy.
