Numerous shots allegedly fired on Beekman Avenue early Sunday morning resulted in multiple injuries and a suspect arrested, police report.

This morning, Sleepy Hollow Police were investigating a dramatic scene that neighbors said played out in front of the Match Bar at the intersection of Beekman and Barnhart. There was still blood on the sidewalk in front of the bar as officials temporarily taped off a portion of the roadway.

From Sleepy Hollow Police Chief Gregory Camp:

On Sunday March 31, 2013 at about 3:37 a.m. the Sleepy Hollow Police Department received numerous calls reporting shots fired in the area of Beekman Ave and Barnhart Ave. Officers responded to the call and found two subjects lying in the roadway on Beekman Avenue, apparent gunshot victims. Assistance was immediately requested from various agencies. Ambulances were requested for the victims. The victims were transported to the Westchester Medical Center. The suspect was taken to the hospital for non gunshot related injuries.

The suspect was apprehended on Clinton Street, a short distance from the scene. A firearm has been recovered. It appears that numerous shots were fired.

An investigation is being conducted by the Sleepy Hollow Police Department, with assistance from the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Crime Scene Unit.
