Helping Sleepy Hollow Deal with Recent Tragedies

Phelps Memorial Hospital and the Village are reaching out to help residents deal with recent tragedies from Hurricane Sandy and Sandy Hook to two shocking local deaths.

This notice comes from the Village of Sleepy Hollow:

The Village of Sleepy Hollow, along with Phelps Memorial Hospital is providing a community meeting to help residents deal with the recent events of  Super Storm Sandy, Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy and the heartbreaking fatalities in Sleepy Hollow. Phelps Hospital staff will be on hand to answer questions about PTSD, Depression, treatment or other relevant topics.

The needs of the group will be assessed so that the Hospital staff involved can act accordingly.

This meeting is open to the entire community and will be held at Sleepy Hollow Village Hall, on the second floor, on Thursday January 24, 2013.

The meeting will start promptly at 7:00pm until 8:30 pm. There will be a Spanish translator available for this meeting.

The following Phelps Memorial Hospital Center employees are planning to attend:

  • Judy Burns, LCSW, Director, Behavioral Health Services 
  • Rachel Schoolcraft, M.D., Program Psychiatrist and
  • Abby Schneider, LCSW, Program Director of Phelps Counseling
