'Main Street Matters' to Hold Fundraiser

Further beautifying Main Street is the goal of a new group formed by several Tarrytown business owners.

Dressing up your home for the holidays? How about helping to dress up Main Street while you're at it?

Main Street, one of the prettiest stretches of one of the "prettiest towns in America" is hoping to get even prettier with a boost from a few local shopkeepers. Owners of Michael Christopher Antiques, ShayLuLa Jewelry, and Belkind Bigi have teamed up to form a new fundraising group called "Main Street Matters."

Their first goal is simply to raise enough money to hang flowering baskets from lightposts on Main Street in the spring. And they hope to do this by selling Chilewich tabletops and floor coverings this Thursday night.
