Movies (Being) Made Here: Vince Vaughn Film

Today a Vince Vaughn film is being shot in Philipsburg Manor with a staging area in the GM lot.

What looks like construction work is just cinematography, reports Village Administrator Anthony Giaccio.

A Vince Vaughn film is being shot here, just today, in Philipsburg Manor.

There's also a staging area that caught my eye in a portion of the GM site alongside Beekman Avenue with trailers and some unexplicable bulldozing. With so much action going on between the Oil Tanks coming down and soil remediation in the area of Barnhardt underway, it all just blends right in with our super-industrial aesthetic here on the waterfront.

Meanwhile, it's worth noting that Vince Vaughn is also one of the major sponsors of the Haunted Hayride/Block Party. Which is pretty cool.

Vaughn was last spotted (in August) shooting scenes for The Internship, pairing him again with Owen Wilson and slated for 2013 release. It's about working at Google and you can read more about it on the Huffington Post. Working at Google could not be further from our 17th century working farm, but maybe the crazy duo take a road trip? Or maybe he's just onto his next flick.

About The Internship:

"We get free food, we get to play ping pong and take naps," Vaughn said of the role in a recent interview with The Huffington Post. "We find a way to get into the intern program and try to get a job there. It's fun to go back and do some R-rated comedies again." Vaugh penned the screenplay, which also features a cameo from Will Ferrell.

Stay tuned as I try to sniff out more from Philipsburg Manor. Have photos of your own peering through the fence? Share them here!
