Cecilia Novotny Rahl, 81, of Tarrytown

A funeral mass for Rahl will be held on Saturday at Tarrytown's Transfiguration Church.

Cecilia Novotny Rahl, 81, of Tarrytown, NY entered into eternal life on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.  Born in Yonkers, NY, Cecilia was the daughter of the late John and Helen Minor Novotny.  She was predeceased by her husband Ernest, to whom she was married for 50 years. She was also predeceased by her sisters Terri Raeder and Joan Riesenkonig. She is survived by her sister, Helen (Carl) Specht of Carryville, NY.  She is also survived by her three loving daughters, Andrea Rahl, of Tarrytown, NY, Lydia (John) Kaplan of Hopewell Junction, NY and Marian (Walter) Snik, of Tarrytown, NY; 7 Kaplan grandchildren; Tamara, John, Timothy, Gregory, Katherine, Andrea, and Alexander; great-granddaughter Deborah Lynn Lucchetti of Camillus, NY.

She proudly received her Bachelor of Science degree from Iona College at the age of 58.  She retired from the Yonkers Criminal Court System and pursued her favorite hobbies of painting and writing poetry.  She enjoyed going to the Rye Handicapped Group and The Neighborhood House in Tarrytown.  Besides her family she loved her catalog shopping, “The Lawrence Welk Show” and “Wheel of Fortune”.
