William Mathieson, Lifelong Tarrtown Resident

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday with funeral services on Thursday at Irvington Presbyterian Church.

William M. Mathieson, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown died March 9, 2013 at the age of 80. Born in Tarrytown on January 2, 1933, he was son of William A. and Margaret Myers Mathieson. Bill served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On July 18, 1964, he married Lucille Tornello in Immaculate Conception Church. Bill worked for General Motors for 37 years, having retired in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Spencer Kelly Post, the Tarrytown Seniors and he was Past Master of the Masons Solomon Lodge.

Bill is survived by his wife Lucille ‘Cookie’, his brother Dennis (Sheryl) of Lords Valley, PA and his sister Patricia Furphy of Scotia, NY as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Funeral Services will be on Thursday at 10:00 at Irvington Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rosary Hill Home 600 Linda Avenue Hawthorne, NY 10532
