Tarrytown Police are out with the Westchester County K-9 unit trying to track down a man suspected of attempting a home invasion on Benedict Avenue just after noon Tuesday.

Police were looking for a black male, described as 5'8" to 5'10" in height, wearing a long sleeve black shirt and blue jeans.

The suspect apparently broke into a residence at 4 Benedict Avenue this afternoon, only to find the homeowner was there. The man fled on foot, police say, southbound on South Broadway. Police have been concentrating their investigation in the vicinity of the entrance to the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Police reported at 3:20 p.m. that the search is "still ongoing" and had no more information at this time.
