Burglars Nab Cash from Tappan Zee Stationery Store

Burglars broke the plate glass window and made off with over $400 cash from the Tappan Zee Stationary store in Tarrytown's Bridge Plaza predawn on Oct. 23.

Tarrytown Police responded to a call for an activated burglar alarm at the stationary store early at 4:40 a.m.

They found the front glass window broken and confirmed that a burglary had taken place. The cash drawer had been taken with over $400 in itd, Lt. William Herguth said.

A key holder and the owner were both notified and on their way.

Irvington Police Department was asked to come in and assist forming a rear perimeter. The detective division came to investigate with the chief and lieutenant notified.

Herguth said police are still investigating and looking into any available surveillance footage of the break-in.
