Sleepy Hollow Cops Charge 21-Year-Old with Imprisonment, Harassment

Police knew the alleged suspect from a car accident that morning when he had reportedly collided with a car backing out from a parking space.

An Elm Street dispute between exes resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old Sleepy Hollow man charged with unlawful imprisonment and harassment in the second.

A caller told Sleepy Hollow police on Jan. 22 at 11:12 a.m. that he had gotten a call from his friend telling him she was being held against her will in her ex-boyfriend's car for over an hour.

The caller said he believed they were parked on Elm Street near the Van Tassel apartments in a gray car.

Five officers went to search the area, which turned up nothing.

The caller gave the name of the alleged suspect, who police knew to have been involved in an earlier car accident at 9:45 a.m. that morning when he had collided with a car backing out from a parking space.

With this report, they had his license plate and found the car at the rear of an Andrews Lane building.

At 11:24 a.m. they were taking the man in for investigation.

At 11:29 a.m. they had contacted the victim and asked her to come to headquarters to make a statement. Police went to go get her, but she walked to the station.

Chief Gregory Camp had no further on her age or more specifics on the nature of the alleged imprisonment or harassment.
