A caller reported to Sleepy Hollow police on July 6 at 9 a.m. that a garbage truck had spilled some liquid waste onto the roadway on Cortlandt Street and now the area "has a real foul odor," said the report.

Officers on the scene said a private garbage company had spilled liquid waste onto the roadway from Dominick's Live Poultry. Police said the area needed to be washed down and requested the fire chief and a rescue hose engine to help. The building department was also told of the situation. The waste service company was issued a summons.
