Sleepy Hollow Woman Charged with Felony Assault, Weapon Possession

Sleepy Hollow police received a call on July 14 at 12:57 a.m. for a fight between two people in front of the 100 College Avenue apartments, which lead to the arrest of one woman and the hospitalization of both parties. 

Police on the scene requested an ambulance for a man who had been cut on his arm. He was taken to Phelps Emergency Room. 

At 1:32 a.m., police reported that one woman had been placed under arrest. 

Brittany Smith, 22, of Sleepy Hollow, was charged with:

  • Assault, second degree, a felony
  • and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree
At 3:06 a.m., Smith had requested to the hospital for reasons police could not disclose and was taken to Phelps emergency room.

Bail was recommended at $10,000 with an order of protection issued when Smith was released from hospital.

The case was forwarded to the county District Attorney's office, Chief Gregory Camp said.
