Someone Attempts to Defraud Crest Pool Club of Many Thousands

The Tarry Crest Swimming and Tennis Club Inc. was almost out many thousands of dollars from a forged check that someone cashed in their name.

Someone reported the finding to Tarrytown police on Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

The fraudulent check for $25,750 had been cashed on Nov. 12. However, the club's bank, Board members, and the authorities "became involved immediately and no money was lost," reports Mistrella Murphy on behalf of the Board. 

Police Lt. William Herguth said no more information is being released on this at this time as the case is still under investigation.
