Want to Have Fun, Officially?

The Sleepy Hollow Board of Trustees voted to create a Recreation Advisory Committee, now they need more members.

Editor's Note: the following comes from Bruce Campbell, Sleepy Hollow Trustee and Communications Chair:

Sleepy Hollow is looking for some residents who know how to have fun. They’re needed for the newly created Recreation Advisory Committee.

At its meeting last night, Tuesday July 24th, the Village Board of Trustees voted unanimously to establish the committee. Its job will be to give advice and make suggestions on how to expand and enhance the Village’s many recreation programs.

The Board resolution read in part: “in order to reach our goal of providing the best recreation program for our community, it is important to solicit the contributions of all its residents and interested parties to participate in the recreation discussion.”

The Committee will have seven members with staggered terms. The first members will be appointed to terms of 2 to 4 years. They are to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Board.

At last night’s meeting Mayor Ken Wray appointed the first four members of the Committee. They are Carl Aridas, Alicia Santocki, Ana Lopez and Herb Weltig.

The goal is for the committee to represent all neighborhoods in the village as well as community organizations that are active in youth or adult recreation.
