A Tarrytown under age 10 girls travel team update from Michael Weitzen:

Tarrytown AYSO under age 10 girls travel team defeated rival Ossining 1-0 at Losee park on Saturday. The Mustangs played tough on their soggy home field, earning their fourth shut out victory of the year, and bringing their record to 4-1. The fourth quarter winning goal began with Maya Weitzen stealing the ball and penetrating deep into Ossining territory. Maya next passed to Sophie Sylves-Berry, who drew the defense to the left side of the field. Sophie then executed a perfect cross that found the left foot of Maya, who put the ball into the back of the net.

Offensive pressure was kept strong throughout the game with well executed long throw-ins by Maddy Navin and Julia Costa; speed and crisp passing from Sammy Nutig, Samantha Livingston, and Catherine Grimes; as well as dazzling footwork by Emma Clarke.

The Mustang's robust defense was led by Maddy Navin, Annie Dineen, and Sadie Swenson; while Catherine Grimes and Julia Costa were perfect in goal. The Mustangs look to earn their 5th win next Saturday when they travel to take on the Croton Tigers at Croton Landing field.
