Hastings-on-Hudson: Hastings Jazz Benefit Concert

Where/When: The First Reformed Church of Hastings on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m.

Why go: For the third consecutive year, a benefit concert will raise funds for Hastings Helps the Hungry and The Sharing Community of Yonkers. Three-time Grammy winning bassit John Patitucci will lead his band in the evening of jazz. There will be a silent auction.

Irvington: Church Attic Sale

Where/When: Irvington Presbyterian Church on Friday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

North Salem: The American Gold Cup

When/Where: Old Salem Farm in North Salem until Sunday, Sept. 15.

Why go: The renowned equestrian event – the American Gold Cup – has come to Northern Westchester for the second year in a row. It showcases world-class equestrian competition's sheer equine power, speed and excitement. Cheer on the country's top riders and their equine partners as they compete to win the prestigious 43rd annual American Gold Cup trophy. Ossining: Dane Terry- Lyricist as Storyteller

Where/When: Ossining Public Library on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.

Why go: Pianist Dave Terry will simultaneously sign and storytell while playing the piano at the Ossining library this weekend.

Pocantico Hills: Organic Gardening

Where/When: Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Why go: Stone Barns Farm Director Jack Algiere will be sharing the basics of organic gardening, from "principle to practice" at Stone Barns Saturday. She will be sharing the secrets to cultivating rich soil and growing in your own backyard.

Somers: Gaming Club at Library

When/Where: Friday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. at the Somers Library

Why go: The library staff is asking students to join them to play all different types of games from video games (Nintendo Wii & PS3), to board games, card games, and any other type of game you want. It is open to both middle school and high school students.

Sleepy Hollow: Immaculate Conception Parish Weekend Feast

Where/When: 199 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow on Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14, 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 5 to 9 p.m.

Why go: Everyone’s welcome to the annual festival/fundraiser for Sleepy Hollow’s Immaculate Conception Church. Italian food including pizza, frita, sausage and peppers, spaghetti and meatballs, along with burgers, hotdogs, wine, beer and soda. Games, fun for all, with bouncy rides for the kids. Enter a raffle from the Maronite community to win a 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman valued at $27,145 or money prizes up to $5,500.

Pricing: Free (raffle tickets for Mini Cooper are $100; general raffle tickets for money prizes, $20 or 6 for $100.)

Tarrytown: Lyndhurst Landscape Ramble

Where/When: Lyndhurst on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10:30 a.m.

Why go: Tour the grounds of Lyndhurst on Sunday and you'll have the chance to see the greenhouse complex, rose garden and more. Dress for hilly terrain and bring rain gear. Not recommended for children under six.

Pricing: $14 adults; $13 seniors/students; $10 children

Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow: 9-11 Ceremony

Where/When: The Washington Street side of Patriot’s Park, north of the entrance to the park.  There is a 9-11 monument located near the brook on that side of the park. Sunday, September 15, 9 a.m. 

Why go: The Fire Departments of the Villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow will be conducting their annual 9-11 Ceremony this Sunday. Fire Department personnel will be assembling in the park between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
